Speeding tickets in the Catskills

The Catskills are a beautiful place for a drive, but it’s also an area where police love writing speeding tickets - especially in the nice weather.

If you were pulled over on the Thruway and got a ticket for court in Plattekill, New Paltz, Lloyd, Esopus, Rosendale, Hurley, Ulster, Kingston (town or city), or Saugerties, you may not even realize you were in the Catskills, because that road isn’t designed for sightseeing. If you have a chance to return to the area and take a day or two, you may understand why this was such a popular vacation area before that highway was put in.

For most other trips through the Catskills, it’s harder to overlook the natural beauty of the region that inspired Washington Irving. Maybe it’s those views that distracted you from seeing the police officer in time as you passed through towns and villages like Woodstock, Marlborough, Shawangunk, Wawarsing, Gardiner, Ellenville, Denning, Hardenburgh, Shandaken, Olive, Marbletown, or Rochester. (This is just a sampling of the Catskills communities where I will appear in traffic court for you. If you upload your traffic ticket, I will call you to talk about your prospects, whether your court is listed here or not.)

When you are able to complete a beautiful drive along route 28 or anywhere else into the Catskills without the unpleasant interruption of being pulled over for something like using a cell phone or any other traffic violation, that’s a good day. If you do end up with flashing lights in your rear-view mirror, call Selby Legal.
